Spring 2015 - Headlines

With the winter behind us, we're entering the thick of conference season. That's what this issue is all about.

  • Are conferences worth it? Take the survey.
  • We'll build a database of conferences...

Survey: Are Conferences Still Worth It?

Header

Conferences are a topic which elicits a very broad array of responses. Some say putting in face time with customers in invaluable, even if you can't measure the ROI. Some question the costs in consideration of many other, often more targeted methods of reaching customers. Some credit conferences with the majority of their sales. Some say it's simply a continuation of an old habit of questionable value.

We tried to answer this question with existing studies and data, but the answer was still not clear.

What do you think? Take the survey. It only takes 5 minutes.

The template and instruction manual can be requested on our website.

How would you like a directory of conferences?

We're not in the habit of asking for something without giving something of at least equal value back in return. Giving back to the life science commercial community is why we developed our resource center in the first place.

If we can get 100 people to take the conference survey by the end of April, we'll add a directory of conferences to the resource center. This directory will list scientific conferences with a description, attendance, dates, costs, and location, so if you're looking to re-evaluate which conferences you attend or add a new conference to the mix, you'll be able to easily find the information you need.

Oh, and I almost forgot to mention... We're already halfway to the 100-respondent total! We only need 50 more people to take the survey, and we have three more weeks to achieve it!

If we get 100 respondents we'll also share the survey and all of the anonymized data publicly so everyone can have it and analyze it however they want. (Even if we don't get to 100 we'll still release a report with results and analysis.)

Take the survey and share with colleagues! The survey has 23 questions and should only take about 5 minutes to complete. The survey URL is: http://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/2060264/Are-Conferences-Worth-the-Cost

As mentioned in the last newsletter, we're redoing our website. The new site should be launched late spring / early summer. We're revamping it to be a legitimate resource for life science marketers and other commercial professionals spanning a wide variety of topics while allowing users to easily find both the topics and formats which most interest them.

There's simply too much noise in content marketing. If you're routinely publishing content without putting significant thought or effort into how it's helping solve your customers' problems, you're stuck in an old paradigm. A paradigm that just adds to the noise and makes your audience's attention span ever-shorter. Stop shouting at your audience and start creating value for them by shifting from a content paradigm to a resource paradigm. Contact BioBM, and we'll show you how.
